#2 The Plan

Project Restoration CIC – Business Plan

1. Executive Summary

Project Restoration CIC is a Community Interest Company (CIC) dedicated to supporting individuals who are homeless, vulnerable, or facing social disadvantage. The organisation’s mission is to restore dignity, stability, and purpose through emergency accommodation, mentoring, and practical skills training.

Our first initiative, Project Lifeboat, provides temporary single-occupancy shelters in small modular units (“Lifeboats”) for people in urgent housing need. These are safe, weatherproof, and designed for short-term overnight use until more stable accommodation is secured.

Over time, Project Restoration CIC will develop additional community-focused programmes that offer mentoring, hands-on training, and employment opportunities through a social enterprise car workshop and related activities.

2. Aims and Objectives

  • Provide safe, short-term emergency accommodation for people facing homelessness.

  • Support individuals on a route back to work through mentoring and practical skills.

  • Develop sustainable social enterprise projects to generate income and reduce reliance on donations.

  • Foster collaboration with local organisations, charities, and councils to address homelessness at a community level.

3. Current Focus: Project Lifeboat

Project Lifeboat currently operates on private land provided free of charge. One Lifeboat unit is already in use as a prototype emergency shelter. The aim is to expand capacity as donations increase, with additional units purchased as needed. Each Lifeboat unit costs between £400 and £1,500 depending on where we can source them at any given time on the second hand market.
